KTM 690 ENDURO R, 690 SMC R, Model year 2014

Date posted

The Hazard

During routine production checks, KTM discovered that the tool for tightening the foot brake levers on the footrest brackets of 690 ENDURO R and 690 SMC R was partially not set correctly.

It is possible that HEX COLLAR SCREW M8X25 ISA40(#0025080256S) was tightened with a reduced torque of 15 Nm instead of 25 Nm. ( NB - The information is linked to a specific vin number range).

What to do

Owners should not ride the vehicle before checking the screw and footbrake lever operation.

Only then should the vehicle be taken to an authorised KTM dealer for the problem to be checked and corrected, free of charge.

All listed owners will be sent a letter informing of the recall and handling requirements.
