A fault can activate a defective reset switch, allowing the elements to turn back on instead of shutting the kettle down.
What to do
If your kettle was purchased after 20 July 2016, immediately stop using it and disconnect it from the power supply.
Return the kettle to Harvey Norman for a refund or replacement.
Alternatively contact STM Group (distributor) to organise a replacement.
